The Black Nazarene, a rejoinder.

The traditional annual procession of the statue of the Black Nazarene in Manila was attended by hundreds of thousands of devotees, and at times, the number can reach, up close to a million. It's allure was rested on the reputed mysticism and relief, not uncommonly experienced by attendees. One who has spiritual discernment however, may see more, and perceive something that is beyond those. One who has, may see the event, and the image, as temporal catalyst. It was not the image of the black nazarene per se. It was the simultaneous burst of animated emotions, without regard to any consequence to the body, and rather oddly, inspired by the hope of spiritual profit. It was the congregation of collective consciousness, directed to the heaven's whereabouts, though momentary, had pulsated, into a higher plane of awakening. It was the spontaneous but short lived recollection of their true being, that caused them to extend their spiritual arm, in hunger; for truth, divine love and heal
