Imperialist

A failing imperialist state would switch to survival mode, not necessarily to restore its waning dominance, but to preserve whatever is left. Filipinos has a term for this, its called "Juramentados", aka "runs amuck". In order for a failing imperial empire to maintain its decreasing leverage to impose its will against other entities, e.g. juridical, sovereigns, heads of state, or individuals, it will resort to sanctions, coercion, threats and all sorts of diplomatic pressure. If all or any of the aforegoing fail, it will switch to state sponsored assasination, kidnapping, regime replacement and invasion. It will aim for a reset through war and destruction. The acts are borne by desperation to maintain dominance and supremacy. The motive of imperialism is almost always the extraction of resources from other states towards self enrichment, or to use a subservient state and its people to further its selfish and abominable agenda without endangering its own. But the latter is not always true. An imperialist may also create a crisis against its own, to justify its perverted actuation, and to rally for the support of its unsuspecting populace. Because you see, the imperalist state is just the muscle, the triggerman so to speak. The real face behind it are the true imperialist, they are the powers that be.

The Black Nazarene, a rejoinder.

The traditional annual procession of the statue of the Black Nazarene in Manila was attended by hundreds of thousands of devotees, and at times, the number can reach, up close to a million. It's allure was rested on the reputed mysticism and relief, not uncommonly experienced by attendees. One who has spiritual discernment however, may see more, and perceive something that is beyond those. One who has, may see the event, and the image, as temporal catalyst. It was not the image of the black nazarene per se. It was the simultaneous burst of animated emotions, without regard to any consequence to the body, and rather oddly, inspired by the hope of spiritual profit. It was the congregation of collective consciousness, directed to the heaven's whereabouts, though momentary, had pulsated, into a higher plane of awakening. Transcending Filipinism

The term Filipinism by itself is Filipinism. It is uncommon in usage internationally, but somehow it made its way to world dictionaries and may refer to usage resulting from literally translating Tagalog words into English. These are English usage peculiar to and used only by Filipinos. Turn on/ off the lights is spoken as Open/ Close the lights; CR or Comfort Rooms are used instead of Toilets (The word “Toilet” has sensibility issue and considered unhygienic); Napkins are referred to as Tissue; Canteen is used instead of Cafeteria; Colgate means Toothpaste even though it’s a Close-Up; Refrigerator is generally called Frigidaire: Xerox is to photocopy even if the machines in use are UBIX, Brothers, etc. The preceding examples demonstrate that Filipinism is beyond lingual.  It is about tradition, customary practice and generally accepted norms that manifest in  language and its usage.
