Ghost

Why is it easier for people to believe in ghost than GOD's manifestation.? If there were signs, or indications of non physical presence, they would assume that it was a ghost, but never an expression of divine beings. We can only surmise that there are three significant reasons. First, spiritual maturity has yet to reach the essential level of discernment. There is the firm inclination to temporal realities, which a particular event can be associated and identified by the senses. Probably the reason why Jesus had to perform miracles in order to gain attention. Second, religion had taught them unworthiness, undeserving of a visit from any divine beings, which by observation and learning can only be attributed to saints. Religion, wittingly or unwittingly had not stressed in their teaching the true nature of man. Third, is the influence of culture and tradition. The stories of ghost and other negative supernatural element from a man's early years up to his maturity predominate his consciousness, since it seemed to have been validated by the ancestors and predecessors via the word of mouth, and passed down the line, hence, achieving a semblance of credibility.

GOD is spirit. GOD said he created all, and that includes the visible and the invisible. If one believed in the ghostly spirit, and its ability to manifest in the material world, it is inevitable to acknowledge the existence of divine spirits and its ability to express its presence. That is and there is the duality of creation which none can deny.

Why would tens of millions converged every January 9 to celebrate the feast of the Black Nazarene   barefooted and unmindful of rain or scorching heat? Why would thousands upon thousands amid risk of injury or death would forcefully hurled themselves into the disarray of humanity just to have a shot at no more than 50 feet of rope that connects to a “carossa”, that carried the image of the Black Nazarene? Right or privilege

Is owning a firearm a right or a privilege? This is the question raised by a Filipimo congressman in a public hearing for the purpose of introducing an amendment to the Firearms law under Republic Act 10591. Some stakeholders answered yes, its a right. Some answered that it is a privilege. However, none of them was able to give a satisfactory explanation for their stand. In the Philippines firearm ownership is considered to be a privilege. Hence, stringent requirements were imposed to acquire a license to possess a firearm. Along with the requirements were exorbitant fees that exacted a burden akin to paying an annual real property tax. The process exalted the concerned government agencies into profit centers rather than cost centers.The issue lies on whether it is indeed a privilege or a right. Transcending Filipinism

The term Filipinism by itself is Filipinism. It is uncommon in usage internationally, but somehow it made its way to world dictionaries and may refer to usage resulting from literally translating Tagalog words into English. These are English usage peculiar to and used only by Filipinos. Turn on/ off the lights is spoken as Open/ Close the lights; CR or Comfort Rooms are used instead of Toilets (The word “Toilet” has sensibility issue and considered unhygienic); Napkins are referred to as Tissue; Canteen is used instead of Cafeteria; Colgate means Toothpaste even though it’s a Close-Up; Refrigerator is generally called Frigidaire: Xerox is to photocopy even if the machines in use are UBIX, Brothers, etc. The preceding examples demonstrate that Filipinism is beyond lingual.  It is about tradition, customary practice and generally accepted norms that manifest in  language and its usage.
